The month of January has not been kind to photographers that schedule portrait sessions on location. The average temperature has been a 47 fun loving degrees. This past week we had some pretty wild swings for instance Monday a high of 42, Wednesday 74 and today a high of 34 and there is about an inch of snow on the ground and of course most weekends were cold only to have it warm up in the middle of the work week.
Back in December I purchased the Canon 6D and I must say that it performed extremely well at the New Years Eve wedding that Marcus and I photographed. Due to the fact that it is a full frame camera I was able to use the Sigma 85mm 1.4 for everything besides the group shots and I plan on sharing a few of those images in the next few weeks.
The unfortunate weather we have experienced on our weekends here in MD has forced us to cancel two portrait sessions in January. I was getting tired of testing out the camera by shooting objects in my house so I decided to give a friend of mine a call to see if she would be willing to take some environmental portraits in nearby Ellicott City Maryland. Thankfully Michelle was free so we met up for a quick photo session and here are a few of the photos taken on that day.
