Over the course of the next week I will be sharing a few  photographs of  the wedding between Joshua and Stacy.  About three months ago Marcus and had an engagement session with Stacy and Joshua and a month ago we had the wonderful opportunity to shoot their wedding.  The wedding was at the historic Gramercy Mansion in Baltimore county Maryland.   A couple of weeks before the wedding we drove to the Gramercy to scout the location so that we could get an idea of where we may want to shoot from during the ceremony as well as to check out the numerous gardens in which we could take their portraits.  Sadly all of that early preparation was done in vain because on the day of the wedding it rained.   Luckily the mansion has a very large semi enclosed patio and that is where the ceremony was moved to.    This was by far the most challenging shoot that we have ever done together and the reason is because a lot of the walls in the mansion  were a dark red and some were wood from floor to ceiling.   There was also numerous different kinds of lighting in some rooms.   Overhead lighting, lamp lighting and natural light all in one.

The first series of photographs that I would like to share are photographs of the bride preparing for her wedding day.   I have to say that I was a nervous mess being in a room with a bunch of beautiful women getting prepared for the wedding.  I spent so much energy trying to avert my eyes and camera to ensure that they felt as comfortable with us in the room while they were getting ready and I was almost drained after the experience ..    I watched the bride getting prepared and I could almost feel the joy and happiness radiate from her.  It was like a switch that went off in my head and I said to myself its game time!  It felt to me like this was the 4th quarter in a playoff game and we had to win.  It may seem silly but I envisioned Marcus and I being down by a touchdown and every minute counts if we had to pull out a victory.  That is what shooting the wedding felt like for us.  I wanted to win and a win in this scenario meant that when Stacy and Josh got their photographs we had to ensure that they were not just happy but ecstatic that they chose us to capture their special day.
